I appreciate my hubby who made sure my day was filled with happiness. God bless you dear for your good heart and support. Shoutout to everyone who showered me with prayers and well wishes.

40 Lessons I have learnt @40 and counting.

  1. Always make eye contact When you speak to others and smile. Never forget to smile. Even on the phone, when recording a voice message. People can actually hear your smile and it can put them at ease.

  2. Follow your goals. Keeping in mind that no dream is worth sacrificing your health and lrelationships for. If it's for you, trust me it will happen.

  3. Your values are important, do not lose sight of who you really are.

  4. Relationships need nurturing to work.

  5. Not everyone is for you to be friends with.

  6. Never forget that your health is your actual wealth. Taking care of your body and mental well being is a priority. Take care of you!

  7. Regular exercise is very good. Prevent problems by making exercise a part of your daily and weekly routine.

  8. Learn to focus on the preventive measures rather than being reactive either in business or in your physical or mental health.

  9. Try not to make what other people think of you, your business  or family bother your mind. It's their business not yours. Train your kids to the best of your abilities and prayerfully and with sincerity of mind commit them to God daily.

  10. Hire people you can trust even if it means training them a little instead of people who are professionals if you don't have the capacity. Or you simply learn.

  11. Set boundaries and exercise them. Say No comfortably!

  12. All relationships require bits of compromising here and there. No one is perfect, we all are a work in progress.

  13. Sleep is very important. Getting enough sleep is crucial.

  14. Life can be very boring without music. So get your home theater and sound bars and dance.

  15. Take steps away from toxic people and avoid toxic environments. Staying away from such people opens a window for you to explore new things, new relationships and even build on old or existing ones. You save precious time and energy Staying away from such people/places.

  16. Make a gratitude list. It really does work. They will uplift you and remind you often how lucky you are.

  17. Be charitable. Donate time, money and whatever you can to those who need it.

  18. Find and join a course. Find one that resonates with you. I started womeninbusinesswib and today I am happy I did. You can even start up one if you want.

  19. Don't be afraid of rejection. It is an important part of the creative process. Everything is not meant for you. Pick yourself up and move when you are rejected or you hear a No. Learn from your mistakes and commit to growth and improvement. Turn every NO into a YES!

  20. It is never too late to change direction - a career, a job, business, city, state

  21. Be humble and keep your ego in check. We are all equal.

  22. Say sorry when you mess up

  23. Forgive yourself and others.

  24. Be mindful of living above your resources/means. Get your head around the numbers. Learning how to save and not overspend. It’s never too late.

  25. Knowledge is power keep learning

  26. Read to keep exercising your eyes and mind. As the body needs exercise, so do they.

  27. Be your authentic self, Be unapologetically you! You are human, you are intelligent, you are flawed and fabulous. You are enough! ALWAYS.

  28. Do not blame yourself for the  mistakes of the past.

  29. Change your eating habits and drink lots of water.

  30. Prepare and accept the ensuing changes bound to occur.

  31. Whatever happens, spend more time with your family and loved ones..

  32. It's never too late to learn something new each day. I have learnt lessons from body image to being frugal when shopping and so much more.

  33. Making your marriage a priority is much easier at this stage of life.

  34. Do what is best for your physical and mental health even if it upsets others. People most times have complains especially when it comes to life changes. Its about you not them.

  35. Don't attend every event you are invited to. Value your free time and carefully choose how and with whom to spend your free time.

  36. Be careful with loans and credit cards. Try not to take on more than you can chew.

  37. At 40 it becomes nearly impossible to read without a reading aid. And boom glasses becomes a necessity.

  38. There is no need to remain in a group that is not serving you or that is annoying. Find a way to block or mute group texts and read them at your own convenient  time

  39. There used to be a time when it was all weddings. But now weddings have been replaced by funeral announcements. Many friends my age have recently lost parents, siblings and spouses. This i think is the worst part of growing older.

  40. I thought periods get lighter when you are at his age, but no! it gets worse for many women in their 40's. For me i am coping but sometimes it gets really bad.

Life can be very long and at the same time short, so make the most of it. Yes, take risks, love fearlessly and do not expect anything in return for your kindness. Do not stop smiling, dancing and spreading positivity.

I am grateful to God for 2023 and here's to the new year and the next chapter of my life.
