10 Reasons Your Followers Count Is Not Moving

10 Reasons Your Followers Count Is Not Moving

It’s unrealistic to think each social media post will go viral. You can’t please everyone all the time. But if you’re consistently losing followers than you’re gaining, or if you’re simply not seeing the engagement you’d like to see, you may need to take a step back and look for areas of improvement.

Here in this post I will be pointing you to the issues that may be the cause. The purpose of content creation is to reach out to as many people as possible. It is discouraging to see that your conent does not attract any viewing or reactions.

Here are the 10 things from my experience as an upcoming content creator that may be causing low views, unfollowing and no increase in your following count.

1. Your Customers Or Followers Don't Know When You Are Online.

It's important to let your followers know you are online so they can see your posts. Also you can encourage them to turn on their notification button too.

2. You May Be Coming Off As Spammy.

That is to say your posts have a semblance of a spam post. This means your posts are either
 A. Filled with phone numbers and odd vissuals.
 B. Too selsy, this means you are constantly posting stuffs that you sell meaning you only want to sell your products. All your posts is directed  towards selling an item.
 C. You are probably posting links, goods, images and you do not speak to your audience.
 D. You share other peoples posts and images thereby causing your page to lack the presence of the real owner.

3. You Post Too Often Or You Are Not Posting At All.

Check yourself, if you post multiple times a day, you may be sharing more than you need to. And if you are not sharing at all or have huge gaps in between your posts. Your followers expect consistency and engagement.

4. You Are Not Engaging with Others.

Put yourself out there, become part of the conversation and show people that behind the posts is a real human being. Also interact with your audience. Join groups but make sure to share relevant posts to the groups so your posts can get admin approval.

5. No Personality, Voice Or Branding.

People love you for being you and same goes to your business. Give yourself and your business a personality that reflects the brand. Do you have a well branded account? Check your page - your brand colours, brand voice, outlook and feel. Adopt a concise visual style. Branding your account requires a thoughtful and we'll planned out strategy that will reflect as a unique brand. Your audience will recognize, love and make them keep coming back.

6. No Good Visuals.

We all love good visuals and if you have not noticed yet, the social media platforms we use are centered around images and videos. Good visuals is one of the secrets of people clicking on the follow button. Use high quality videos to attract more followers. Also you can adopt a signature look and feel. You can use apps to help you with this if you are on a budget. Canva is great also boomerang and natural light is great.

7. You Have Not Set Defined Goals And Strategies.

The importance of a good social media strategy cannot be over emphasized. Consistency, resilience and authenticity are the names of the game when it comes to gaining followers on social media. You have to be consistent in your voice, style, posting frequency and use of your analytics. Your objectives and goals will help you focus on the relevancy and quality of each post. Your strategy will help you get organized and stay consistent in your content creation efforts. All these put together equals to more reach and traffick.

8. You Only Talk About Yourself.

Being with one who keeps talking about themselves is annoying and intolerable. Social media is not a platform for you to constantly tell people they need you. Social media is a place where you add value to peoples lives and build new relationships. You need to show them you know whats going on in the industry, you can relate to them by sharing othe contents. Share things about others too. Mix things up by throwing in other contents. People get bored easily. Show your audience that you are a thought leader, show your authority within your industry and that you are on top of trends to become the go to for information within your space

9. You Are Not Adding Value.

This may be the biggest reason why you are not growing on social media. You are not adding value to your audience. People are picky about what brands they want to add to their feeds. There are so many ways you can add value to your audience. You can do this by using beautiful images, humour, contests, sharing useful information, making followers feel important and special.

10. You Are Not Running Adverts Or Boosts.

If you have a restricted AD account then you may likely have a lots of issues which will lead to your page not having the reach that is would ordinarily have. Check that your page AD is well set up and running. Choose the right target audience and see your page do better than before.

In Conclusion

These are the 10 things I have experienced as a social media marketer and content creator. However it is important that you also note that on Facebook if a user doesn't like your content they can unlike your page there by causing a decrease in your following count. People can also hide any repetitive content that they find offensive or report the content thereby causing Facebook not to show them your content again expect it's a boosted post or an advert.

In my usual way, I will like to hear from you. Was this helpful to you? Please leave your opinion in the comments section. Also like and share so others can see and learn too.
