Steps to making your vision board

1. Gather your materials 

2. Take your time to clarify your vision 

3. Find images and objects that represent your vision

4. Arrange your materials 

5. Place your vision board where you will see it very often 

Gather your materials: 

To make a vision board you will need a variety of materials. See if you have the materials around. Also you can make do with what you have on hand. 

Note that some materials are more important than the others.

- What you will need as a base is very important A BOARD. You can use any of - Whiteboard

- Cardboard paper

- Cut out a cartoon if you do not want to spend so much doing this. 

- You will also need images or items to add to the board. These images can come from a variety of sources like

• Old magazine's 

• Old catalogs 

• Printed versions of online images 

• Old photos 

• Postcards 

Also you will need something to secure your items to your base you can use what you have on hand or buy what you prefer to use. Pins and clips work perfectly well. You can also use glue or gum and if you are making a magnetic board you need to use small magnets to secure your images.  

You will need scissors of course this will be useful when cutting out your images. 

Finally you will need a variety of craft tools like paints, markers, pens, pencils, stickers or any other thing you want to use to enhance your board. You can use as little or as much of these materials as you desire.

Take some extra time to clarify your vision before you start creating. Take more than a few moments to clarify your vision. what do you want to establish? Its your board, get as clear as you can on your vision, do not rush this part of the exercise it's the essence of your entire board you will find that you get even more clarity and detailed as you create the board do not distract yourself with other in things during this step like watching TV, talking to your family, playing with your children while you are crafting your vision board. You can even add  pieces of fabrics or items from nature like tree branches if it makes sense to you and your goals. For example a leaf or flower could remind you that you need to spend time in nature.

It's time to arrange your board. Have fun doing this. Your layout should inspire you. There is no need to rush it. Feel free to play around with different layouts options until it feels just right for you. This process is part of developing a clear more detailed vision for the future. You may discover you are leaving something out when you get to this point of creating your vision board. Do not hesitate to go back if you want to add any new thing. Then secure everything in place with your binding material of choice. 

Note: Do not secure your items quickly make sure you are happy with what you have created. If you are using pins or clips it's easy to change up things but if you are gluing or taping your materials, it will be much more difficult to change your mind afterwards. 

Place your vision board where you will see it very often. 

It's done and finally time to hang up your vision board. Choose a place that makes sense to you. It should be very easy to see at every time and everyday. You can try placing it on your fridge in your kitchen, on your your dressing mirror, inside your home office if you work from home. Just make sure not to secure your vision board very tightly too anywhere you are putting it because you might want to change your mind about the position later.

Online vision Boards are great and can be accessed anywhere and anytime you have internet. They do not require printing or buying materials.

1. Choose the tool you want to use. There are so many options to creating a free vision board. Some people like to use Pinterest because it's easy to collect images and links. However Pinterest is not arranged like a traditional goal board you can't create a lay out like you can with a physical board. There is a great tool that makes it easy even if you are not a designer CANVA. The user friendly designing to tools on canva can help you create a more traditional board even if you do not have any designing skills. 

2. Source for your images The great thing about creating a vision board digitally is that you are virtually not limited as to what types of images you can use. You have access to many high quality images that are royalty free. You can even source images from social media accounts you love as long as you keep your vision board to yourself away from the internet, you can use other people's photos. Just remember you do not own copyright to the images you select and will need to seek permission if you want to share your vision board publicly. You can also simply search for vision Board ideas online to help inspire you. Use a template or start from scratch. There are free and paid Canva templates available online. These templates make it even easier for you to design an amazing looking vision board. All you need to do is add in your images And place them exactly where you want them. You can also decide to start from scratch if you do you will need to choose your board size. The board size you choose should  depend on where you will use it the most  You should create a virtual vertical board if you want to use it for your phone's lock screen or background.  

Add images, quotes to your digital vision board once you are ready to go.
