5 WAYS TO SUPPORT A SMALL BUSINESS OR SOLOPRENEUR IN 2024
Business And Strategy

Motivation and loneliness are among the unforseen challenges of starting a business. Staying motivated is critical to keeping a business alive. You can't beat that!
Family, friends, colleagues can be a great source of motivation when starting out and even while you are in business. Even if you do not own a business or rather haven't started your business yet; but you are considering to start one, you can still be instrumental in helping others start and maintain their own while you plan on starting yours.

Here are 5 ways you can support a small business owner or solopreneur in 2024

1. Be There

Starting a business can be lonely when you feel no one is by you that believes in your vision, mission and even values. It is worse at the beginning when you are planning. You can show support in any little way you can. Just listen to them talk about their challenges, goals and recent successes. Be open minded and honest. Dont judge or sound like they are not so good or laid back or their idea is bad. If you do so they might just never come talking to you about it again.

2. Ask How You Can Help

Funding is a very important aspect of starting a business but its not the only thing that matters. Marketing, sales,  operations, accounting,  designing etc are all as important. They are critical parts of a successful business. Ask what you can help with. It might even be an opportunity for you to excercise your skills that you are not using in your own business or even an opportunity to discover something new about yourself.

3. Share Helpful Resources

Share helpful resources and tips with them. Networking is powerful. If you hear of a networking event, find a professional organization or meet someone whom you think would be a great resource be sure to share that information. Do not horde such information. Helping them grow is what makes you a successful entrepreneur.

4. Celebrate Small Victories

The road to being a successful business owner is made up of small wins before the big goals are met. Entrepreneurship path is filled with lots of small  victories and celebrating these small victories is a simple, impactful way to keep  your friend or sister encouraged. It doesn't matter if it's just that they hit 100 followers on Instagram or on their Facebook page, made a new flyers for their business or just got a logo. Or just got fully branded etc.. What ever it is has to be Celebrated.

5. Have Meaningful Interactions

In business or as an  entrepreneur, there is this need to constantly prove yourself, prove the value of your business and how your business is progressing and this makes it important to stay encouraged.  Encourage your friend by reminding them of their potentials and vision. Remember those small victories, resources that might help them push through their rough patches.
When they need advice be sure to ask good questions before you jump into diagnosing the problem and proffering solutions or giving advice.
