10 REASONS WHY PEOPLE BUY

It does not matter what you sell or have in the offer. Whether you sell heavy stuffs, shoes, bags, fashion or services there is a common reason why people would buy your products or services. As a business or entrepreneur, once you identify those reasons and understand them, you are on your way to success and unlocking the secret of effective selling.

Simply put, you need to provide a clear and relevant reason for customers to buy and it must connect to the right human emotions.

Here I have outlined reasons why people buy, how they buy and when they buy.

1. To Save Money

Saving money is a very high priority for many people/customers. If you are offering a low price for example clients buying a land or a home or you are offering them a way to have more money, a way to achieve financial stability or a better standard of living.

2. To Make Money

Just as most people want to save, so also do many people want to make money. We all love to make money and to live a comfortable life. You need to appeal to their emotions. This goes to people selling wholesales, estates, services.

3. To Save Time

If your products or services saves time, this means that your customers will have more time to do the things they love doing. A washing machine is a great example, we spend hours say 3-4 hours or more washing clothes when a washing machine can do it in less than an hour. Then they can have time to do other stuffs, relax on the couch watching their favorite program.

4. For Convenience

This is such a great motivator because we need time and it looks like there's not enough time to do all what we want to do. So any thing that does not inconvenience us is of great appeal. It makes life easy and removes stress. Any product or service that makes life/living stress free is sensational and a banger.

5. Out of Fear

A lot of people buy stuffs out of fear of being left behind, they have a great desire to feel among and so buy stuffs even if its not needed or utterly necessary. Also some buy due to fear of price increase or scarcity. People in this category have the fear of being left out and don't want to be left out. they feel the need to have the latest trending things.

6. For Security

Will you have  enough money when you retire? is the car you are driving safe enough for you and your family? How secured is your job>? in this economic hard times? if your products or services bring answers to these questions then you are good to tap into their emotions and tell them how you can solve their problems

7. To Satisfy Their Ego

Anything that feeds the ego is great! people love praises from other people, they love attracting others or creating a type of lifestyle that they desire. If your services or products makes people feel good about themselves or improve their image, emphasis on these benefits and appeal to their ego. Its an old age tactics but still works wonders for marketers and sales persons.

8. For Pleasure

Some people would just buy because a product or service makes them feel good examples are amusement parks, eateries, gaming centres, beauty place, spa and so on. If what you are selling is generally fun based or give a reason to smile and laugh or generally have a good time with friends and family.

9. Necessity/Need

People buy out of need. Find out the fundamental needs of your customers or clients then determine how your products or services may meet these needs. Needs are strong buying motivators just pick a common problem or pain point of your target audience and match them with the benefits of the products/services you offer. Every product or service solves an issue that many of your target audience face.

10. Display Of Goods

The display or presentation of your goods and services do impact on hoe customers buy. Most buyers do not just start buying immediately they enter a store or shop. They usually pause to get their bearing first. They take a minute or two to get well into the store and then they start buying. Use yourself as an example when you step into a store do you start buying immediately or you take a short tour/glance around then start buying.

In conclusion, it´s important for you as a business owner to identify these motivators and tap into them whenever possible. Once you are able to link up your products or services to the emotional benefits a buyer will enjoy, you will be on your way to making huge sales, earning more money, buying stuffs you need and want and securing your future. That's just the secret of many successful business owners today.
