Life Of An Average Business Woman.

Life Of An Average Business Woman in nigeria

The life of an average business woman in Nigeria as a whole is usually boring and uneventful at the beginning.

Striving to build a business from the scratch in Nigeria is  close to a suicide mission especially If you do not have the needed funds to start or a strong financial support of your husband, father or relatives.

I started my business in 2010 with a sum of 47,000 🤩 after I resigned from my marketing position in the then Bank PHB. I resigned not knowing what to do next and where to start from. I was literally confused and shocked at the turn of my life. I know a lot of ex-bankers will be able to relate with this. Losing ones job or even resigning willingly (adviced to resign based on poor performance) can take a long toll on one.

I decided not to go back to banking or rather not working for anyone else but myself.
I thought setting up a business was all about renting a space and stocking up and boom money will start rolling in.

I thought I would be able to start travelling ✈️✈️ as I love travelling. Little did I know I was going to have to put in much more effort than I initially anticipated if I wanted to remain in business and enjoy the life of freedom I envisioned; so the excitement vanished into thin air with the reality. There is time for everything my late Dad used to say. So I made that my WATCH WORD.

I used to wake up very early and close for business very late at night, i gave up traveling for the time being, gave up parties, weddings, hangouts with friends, school mates and all.

My business and family became all that mattered to me. I lost all my friends though I have always maintained a small circle of friends 🤩 I had no time for open days and graduation parties. No life at all 😊!!

I thought of quitting several times, but I knew WHY I started in the first place. It hasn't been easy but I know it's worth it.
